Air Source Heat Pump – ASHP
Heat pumps are a low carbon and more energy efficient way to heat your home than conventional boilers. Rather than burning fossil fuels they harness heat from the sun. Heat pumps contribute less CO2 than conventional heating systems and so are an excellent choice for those that wish to lower their carbon footprint.
In simple terms a heat pump works by absorbing the heat from either the air or ground, compressing it to a higher temperature and then sending that heat to your heating system or hot water cylinder.
To obtain the most benefit from a heat pump based heating system, it is essential that the home is correctly modified, in terms of heat distribution, to suit the heat pump’s functionality.
